Fuel Pump from the dismantling of a matt black Yamaha MT 125 2015.

The fuel pump is the part responsible for sucking the fuel from the tank and supply it to the carburetor or to the injection battery, if applicable.

When the pump starts to fail, it can cause an abnormal operation of the motorcycle and give the feeling that the motorcycle goes pulling as there is no supply of fluid fuel, or even prevent the motorcycle from starting.

In our workshop we perform different checks depending on whether it is a fuel pump for a carburetor system or injection system:

In the case of carburetor gas pumps:

• checking how it operates when the motorcycle is running.
• verificating of a correct pressure.
• checking the status of the connectors.

On the other hand, if the fuel pump is from an injection motorcycle we check:

• the connectors state is verified along with the electrical anchors.
• the filter state.
• if the level gauge works fine.
